still the best tweet of the week. RT @michaeldempster: RT @jim_rock: Would you have sex with someone who still had a RAZR?

Okay. So the parade was okay. But watching the city hall ceremony in a bar with beers and a bunch of hardcore fans was WAY better.

i understand the back-lash that this album will get.  it basically goes against everything that made The Strokes what they were.  tight, aggressive, unpredictable and just plain fucking stellar. i already read a shitty review on pitchfork this morning (they are just so hit or miss nowadays) where they talk about how this project lacks intensity and will taint the legacy of the Strokes blah blah blah.

but this album is charming in it’s own right.  it’s a new wave, electro, bluesy experimental record which is just chock full of amazingness.  if you were skeptical, give this a listen.

Age of Consent - New Order

i’m sure this isn’t the first time i’ve mentioned this if you follow me, but after many discussions and some extremely deep soul searching, i have to say that this is probably my favorite song. EVER. new order is not my favorite band, or favorite album..   but this song just grips my heart every time i hear those opening notes..  and it will never ever get old, even if i had to sit and listen to it 25 times in a row, i’d probably still tap my feet and sing the lyrics.
